Specifications: One of the first questions that you may ask is that why would anyone make such a huge laptop? Well as much as I am a fan of slim and light laptops, large 17.3-inch laptops do have many advantages over smaller desktops. Many consumers who are planning to get desktops may opt for a large laptop instead as they are so much more stylish. A larger screen is also great for graphic work and watching movies (I am a big laptop movie buff).
The Gateway NV7923u comes with a great set of powerful specs. It has a 2.26Ghz processor (Intel Core i5-430M), a 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM (DDR3). There is also this Turbo Boos features that can speed up the performance to 2.53Ghz. For graphics, this laptop makes use of an Intel GMA HD processor. The 17.3-inch display is a HD screen and it comes with many other features such as stereo speakers, HDMI port, a multi gesture track pad and more.

Design: We had the pleasure of reviewing the black Gateway NV7923u. It has a high-gloss black finish on its external casing. The internal side of the laptop is also mainly black in color except for the nice touch of silver along its edges. This model measures at 16.23 x 11.03 x 1.42 inches and weighs in at 7.4 pounds. Overall, it is a very sleek looking 17.3-inch laptop.
Features & Performance: Thanks to the large display, we had a great time using the Gateway NV7923u to watch movies and doing a series of other graphic works. The images were crisp and brilliant. It was also able to perform a large variety of everyday computing tasks flawlessly thanks to its powerful specs. This model may be big in size and features but it does have a very reasonable price tag. At the moment (time of writing), the Gateway NV7923u is selling for just around 9 per unit.
